Principal Bios

Armon Bar-Tur has served as a director of HRP Partners since October 2005.  Mr. Bar-Tur is a co-founder and Managing Director of SafeHarbor Holding, LLC, which was formed in January 2005.  Previously, Mr. Bar-Tur was employed as an Executive Director of the Investment Management division of Morgan Stanley.  Serving as a Senior Portfolio Manager from 1999 to 2005, Mr. Bar-Tur managed $750 million to $2 billion in mutual fund assets.  Mr. Bar-Tur also served as a Portfolio Co-Manager from 1998 to 1999 and an Assistant Portfolio Manager from 1996 to 1998.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Bar-Tur worked for Merrill Lynch Asset Management in Princeton, New Jersey where he was employed as an Analyst from 1995 to 1996 and a Junior Analyst from 1993 to 1995.  Mr. Bar-Tur graduated from Skidmore College in 1992 with a B.S. in Business Administration. Mr. Bar-Tur is a Trustee of the Little Red Elizebeth Irwin School and a Board Member of Foto + Synthesis, a non-profit arts organization.

Rick Petree was a Managing Director of S.G. Warburg & Co. until 1994. Based in London and New York (at different times), he advised on large multinational m&a transactions. Rick left Warburg in 1994 to pursue entrepreneurial and investment banking activities in Eastern Europe. With partners, he founded a fast food chain in Poland; conceived, structured and raised a $200 million U.S. Government sponsored private equity fund for Southeast Europe; negotiated multi-billion dollar "Paris Club" sovereign debt reductions for Yugoslavia, Ukraine and Georgia; and advised Prime Ministers and Cabinet members in four countries. In 2003, with Jay Moorhead, he co-founded MillRock Partners LLC, a New York City based investment banking firm which advises entrepreneurial and middle market companies on m&a and capital raising. MillRock has advised on numerous real estate related transactions, from the U.S. and Caribbean to the Middle East. Rick is a graduate of Oxford University (1973) and Harvard Law School (1978). Prior to joining S. G. Warburg, he was a corporate attorney with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York City.

Prior to co-founding MillRock Partners with Rick Petree in 2003, Jay Moorhead was a corporate finance partner at CE Unterberg Towbin (New York), leading m&a transactions and securities offerings. For ten years before joining CE Unterberg Towbin (1991-2001), Jay was a founding partner of a successful New York investment banking firm (VM Equity Partners), advising small public companies and private firms in over 50 m&a or investment transactions. Prior to co-founding VM Equity Partners, Jay was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, following that firm’s merger with E.F. Hutton & Co. (which Jay joined in 1984). Jay’s early career was spent in politics and government. From 1977-80, Jay was a campaign manager, first for the Republican Party and later for George H.W. Bush’s Presidential campaign. From 1981-83, he served in the Reagan White House as Special Assistant to the President in the Office of Private Sector Initiatives. After the White House, Jay worked for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee as White House and Government liaison. Jay graduated from the University of Vermont in 1975.
